NOS-HS policy 2021: Changes to exploratory workshop plans
Due to the current situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, NOS-HS has prepared a policy for ongoing exploratory workshop projects 24 April 2020. The policy has been updated in 6 March, 17 May, and 5 July 2021.
Project leaders are advised to make necessary changes to the workshop plan and see that the granted funding is used in a responsible manner. As the first measure: 1) adjust, and if not possible: 2) apply for an extension of the funding period.

Please note: The NOS-HS secretariat and project administration of all active projects will be transferred from the Academy of Finland to NordForsk in Norway from 1 January 2022. Please submit your requests by the end of October 2021. We cannot guarantee that requests submitted later can be managed by the current secretariat.

As of 1 January 2022, the NOS-HS Secretariat will operate in connection to NordForsk. The NOS-HS Committee will remain an independent Nordic body of research funders.
All administrative matters regarding NOS-HS workshop projects, NOP-HS journal grants, and new calls for funding will be handled by the NOS-HS Secretariat at NordForsk.
The previous NOS-HS Secretariat at the Academy of Finland took care of the secretariat matters until 31 December 2021.
Your personal account at the Academy of Finland online services will remain, and you will have access to your original applications, reviews, and funding decisions also in the future. However, all funded NOS-HS and NOP-HS projects will be closed from further processing in the Academy of Finland online services in December.
Your cooperation is crucial for the NOS-HS secretariat at NordForsk to reopen the ongoing projects for invoices and reporting.
All current NOS-HS and NOP-HS grant holders need to register in the NordForsk online platform for the transfer and to receive a new contract from NordForsk. Please follow NordForsk’s NOS-HS Secretariat instructions, which you will receive by email in December 2021. It is necessary to register.

Any requests for changes in the ongoing grants will be submitted to NOS-HS at NordForsk starting 1 January 2022. The current secretariat will not process further changes in 2021. Please make sure you submit your request before the funding period ends.
NB: All new NOP-HS grant holders (decision made in November 2021) please accept the granted funding by 7 December at the latest. See separate email from 26 November 2021 for instructions.
